Minecraft 26.2, the Chaos Cubed update<\/a>, introduced many new items and features, including the sulfur cave biome and sulfur blocks. One of the more interesting features added in this update is geysers. Geysers shoot out a vertical column of sulfuric water, either on a timed cycle or continuously, and launch players and entities straight into the air without requiring redstone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this blog, we will walk through both geyser types, how to build each one from scratch, and what you can use them for once built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the two types of geysers?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are two types of geysers.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Periodic geyser:<\/strong> The geyser will erupt on a cycle rather than erupting continuously. You will need magma blocks to create this type. Since it doesn\u2019t erupt constantly, it is a better choice for elevators or timed builds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuous geyser: <\/strong>The geyser will continuously erupt and will never stop. This is easier to build and doesn\u2019t require magma blocks. Instead, you need a bucket of lava. It\u2019s a better choice for builds where waiting for an eruption isn’t necessary, such as an elytra launcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you need to make a geyser in Minecraft?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Both methods require the following items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regular sulfur blocks generate in clusters inside sulfur caves, usually in groups of 6-12. Nine regular sulfur blocks can be combined to craft a potent sulfur block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can quickly find magma blocks without going to the Nether by searching for a ruined portal. They often spawn some magma blocks around the portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before you start, make sure you gather the materials you need to build your geyser in advance so you don\u2019t have to make multiple trips to get more resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method 1: How to Make a Periodic Geyser (Using Magma Blocks)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Dig a pit that is at least 3 blocks deep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Place a Magma Block at the very bottom of the pit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Place a Potent Sulfur Block directly on top of the Magma Block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: Fill the entire pit with water using your buckets. Don\u2019t place water only at the top, as the geyser will not form. Every layer needs to be a full source block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you have completed the steps, the eruption cycle will begin shortly after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
