What is Core Keeper?

In Core Keeper you play as a miner trapped in an underground world, surrounded by old unknown technology and ruins. There is a mysterious central block called the Core, this is the source of all life in the world, but it is dying, you must restore it to full power by exploring and defeating bosses as you go. There's no map or fixed objective, free exploration is encouraged.

Like most survival sandbox games, the core of the gameplay revolves around gathering resources, building better tools, and defeating ever more difficult bosses. But Core Keeper sets itself apart with its pixel art style, its unique biomes, and the way players are encourages to farm, fish, cook and automate.

Multiplayer

Core Keeper servers support up to 8 players, on your own dedicated server. Everyone shares the same cave, so you can split up naturally, one person mining deeper, another building the base, someone else fishing or farming, and it all contributes to the same progression. PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch are all supported platforms. Crossplay is also supported, so you can play together across all these different platforms. Our servers are optimized so you can play lag-free with your friends on any or all of these platforms simultaneously.

Food and Farming

Food is one of the biggest sources of power in the game. Cooked meals give you buffs like extra movement speed, damage, armor and health regen, and some even grant permanent max health increases. Farming is is also a big part of the game, you plant seeds, water them, and wait for your crops to grow. Crops usually give back more seeds than you planted, so small farms snowball into huge ones quickly.

Cooking itself is just combining two ingredients in a Cooking Pot, but there are 74 ingredients in the game and nearly 3000 possible combinations, each with hidden stats that only reveal themselves once cooked. Add in golden crops, fishing, ranching animals like Moolin for milk, and late game automation with drills and conveyors, and food production ends up being one of the most rewarding side systems in the whole game.
