What is Enshrouded?

Set in the world of Embervale, humans and ancients live peacefully together, until a blue substance known as Elixir is introduced. Humans quickly become addicted and begin to build mines to extract Elixir from Elixir wells, anything to satisfy their greed. As time goes on, a destructive mist known as the Shroud rises from these wells, covering the land and spreading corruption. Entire regions and cities in Embervale are destroyed and communities perish. Now the wisest ancients and humans have come together to save humanity. They will use an ancient magic called the Flame to create human-like beings known as Flameborn. Flameborn are protected from the Shroud for a limited time. You are a Flameborn, and the last hope for humanity.

Progress in Enshrouded revolves around, gathering resources, crafting, defeating bosses. As you explore Embervale there are various territories, each territory has a boss that you must defeat. Defeating a territories boss unlocks new crafting recipes, which can be given to your freed NPC's (blacksmiths, alchemists, farmers), letting you forge stronger gear before pushing into harder territory.

Enshrouded supports upto 16 players on a server. Building System

As Enshrouded is a voxel-based game, building is very freeform, similar to Minecraft. You can carve a base into the side of a mountain, build a cabin deep in a forest, or construct an entire castle on a hilltop. The landscape itself can be shaped and cleared, so you're not just placing structures on top of the existing world.

When building in Enshrouded, you can choose from a wide range of building pieces. These range from single blocks, up to large sections like columns, door frames, window frames, staircases and roof pieces. As you progress through the game, you unlock new materials including sandstone, metal, and even glowing blocks. Newer updates have also added tools like the Overgrowth tool for adding ivy to walls and the Decay tool for giving structures a weathered look. Enshrouded has some of the most impressive community builds of any survival game. Unlike games such as Valheim, however, there is no structural integrity system, so you never have to worry about a build collapsing under its own weight.
