How To Identify a Player’s DayZ Identity ID

When a player attempts to connect to your DayZ server, several different IDs may appear in the server console.

This can be confusing at first, but only one of these IDs is used for whitelisting and player data.

This guide explains which ID matters and which ones you can safely ignore.

Where to Find the DayZ Identity ID

When a player attempts to join your server, their Identity ID is automatically logged in the server console output.

You do not need any admin mods or tools for this.

How to View the Identity ID

1. Select the ‘Console’ Tab

2. When to Capture the ID

Watch the console output during the connection attempt

You will see a log entry showing the player’s DayZ Identity ID, usually alongside their connection information.

This ID is the value used inside the players.db file and is required when performing a manual player reset.

3. Common IDs You Will See (And What They Mean)

During a player’s connection attempt, DayZ may display multiple numbers.
They do not all mean the same thing.

Survivor (XXXXXXXX)

  • Internal, temporary ID used during login
  • Changes between sessions

  • Safe to ignore
