How to Disable Vehicle Damage in DayZ

Important!

Disabling vehicle or tire damage is not possible in vanilla DayZ.

This guide uses the CarDamageConfig mod to achieve this behavior on modded servers.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Startup’ Tab

4. Add the Mod CarDamageConfig

Note:

If you’re running other mods, make sure this mod is listed after CF (Community Framework), if required.

Enter the mod using Workshop ID in the ‘ADDITIONAL MODS’ field using the following format:

@wokshopID

You can find the ID at the end of the Steam Workshop mod URL.
Example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3353822981

CarDamageConfig Mod Workshop ID

@3353822981 → CarDamageConfig

5. Start Your Server

When you start the server, will automatically:

• Download the mod
• Install the folders (@ModName)
• Install the .bikey keys
• Configure the internal load order

No manual upload or FTP steps are required.

6. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

7. Locate the CarDamageConfig File

After installing the mod and starting the server once, its configuration file will be generated automatically.

You can find the config file at:

/home/container/profiles/CarDamageConfig

8. Configure Vehicle Damage Settings

Open the configuration file and adjust the following values.

• Disable all vehicle crash damage
  "Allow_VehicleCrashDamage": 0,

• Disable tire damage from weapons
  "Allow_VehicleWheelsWeaponDamage": 0,

• Disable vehicle damage from firearms
  "Allow_VehicleWeaponsDamage": 0,

• Disable melee damage to vehicles
  "VehicleMeleeDamageMultiplier": 0.0,

9. Optional: Make Vehicles Fully Indestructible

To prevent all damage sources, set these values:

"Allow_EngineDamageExceedingRPM": 0,
"Allow_EngineDamageLackCoolant": 0,
"Allow_VehicleDrownDamage": 0,
"VehicleFireArmDamageMultiplier": 0.0,
"VehicleExplosionDamageMultiplier": 0.0,
"Allow_VehicleReciveZombieHitsDamage": 0,

This ensures:

• No crash damage
• No tire damage
• No engine damage
• No weapon or zombie damage

10. Save the File

Select ‘SAVE CONTENT’ button after making your changes.

11. Restart Your Server

Start the server again to apply the new settings.

12. Updating Mods

Important!

Updates to the mod may reset the config so always back it up.

To make sure CarDamageConfig always stay up to date, simply enable the ‘AUTOMATIC UPDATES’ toggle on the ‘Startup’ page in your panel. Cybrancee will download and apply new versions automatically whenever they’re released.
