How To Enable Skip Night Voting on Your Rust Server

Important!

Your server must have Oxide installed before adding plugins.

If you don’t have Oxide installed yet, check our guide on How to Install Oxide on Your Rust Server.

Note:

You can install this plugin using either Auto-Install Mode or Manual Mode, depending on your preference. Both methods achieve the same result.

Auto-Install

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Go to the ‘Rust Plugins’ Tab

3. Install Skip Night Vote

Type in the search bar Skip Night Vote and select the ‘Install’ button.

4. Restart Your Server

For optimal performance, restart your server manually.

Manual Install

1. Download the Plugins

Download ‘Skip Night Vote‘ plugin from the Umod official website

2. Log in to Your Cybrancee Panel

3. Go to the ‘Files’ Tab

---

4. Locate the ‘plugins’ Folder

You can find the folder in /home/container/oxide/plugins.

5. Open the ‘plugins’ Folder

6. Upload Your Plugin

Upload the SkipNightVote.cs file from the plugin you downloaded in Step 1.

After uploading, you should see the .cs file in the folder.

8. Admin Permissions

Note:

Some commands only work for users with Admin privileges – see How to Set Administrators on Your Rust Server.

Permissions require a SteamID64; use the guide How to Find a User’s SteamID to get the correct ID.

Permissions

This plugin uses the Oxide permission system.

skipnightvote.admin → Required to use the admin command.

To grant a permission type this command in the server console field:

oxide.grant user <name or steamID> skipnightvote.admin

Replace <steamID> with the player’s SteamID and <permission> with the permission you want to assign.

In-Game Chat Commands

• /voteday – Allows the user to cast their vote.
• /nightvote – Admin command to manual open or close a vote.

9.3 Open the ‘SkipNightVote.json’ file

Find and open the ‘SkipNightVote.json‘ file to edit the plugin settings.

9.4 Common Settings

1. Messaging

• DisplayCountEvery → Time in seconds before showing the vote count in chat. Set to -1 to display the count after every vote.

2. Options

• RequiredVotePercentage → Fraction of players required for the vote to succeed.
  Example: if 10 players are online, at least 4 must vote yes for the night skip to succeed.
• TimeToOpen → Time when the vote opens (hh:mm:ss). Default: 18:00:00.
• TimeToSet → Time the server changes to if the vote succeeds (hh:mm:ss). Default: 07:00:00.

3. Vote Timers

• TimeBetweenVotes → Minutes to wait between failed votes.
• VoteOpenTimer → Duration in minutes that the vote stays open.
