How to Setup the CCTV Camera in Rust with Code List

CCTV cameras are one of Rust’s most underrated mechanics. With the help of a Computer Station, you can watch over key monuments across the map or even set up your own private surveillance system inside your base. This allows you to scout enemies, monitor activity, and improve your team’s coordination.

Monument Camera Feeds

Rust comes with several cameras already placed at monuments. Each of these has a unique identifier code that you can enter into your Computer Station to access a live feed.

Some monuments like the Abandoned Military Base and Underwater Labs use dynamic codes that change every wipe. These can be found in the computer stations located inside the monuments.

For example:

  • Dome → DOME1, DOMETOP
  • Outpost → COMPOUNDSTREET, COMPOUNDMUSIC, COMPOUNDCRUDE, COMPOUNDCHILL
  • Bandit Camp → CASINO, TOWNWEAPONS
  • Oil Rigs → multiple identifiers like OILRIG1DOCK, OILRIG2L6D

Setting Up Your Own Cameras

Besides monument feeds, you can place CCTV cameras in your base.

1. Place the Camera on a Wall or Structure

2. Power it With at Least 3 Electricity

3. Set an Identifier Code

Look at the camera.

Press E and enter the identifier from your camera.

4. Select the ‘SET’ Button to Save the ID.

Tip: Use codes that are hard to guess. Anyone who knows your camera’s ID can watch it from their own Computer Station.

Using the Computer Station

The Computer Station is the hub for all CCTV feeds.

You can buy it at Outpost for scrap or craft it with:

  • Workbench Level 2
  • 75 Scrap
  • 5 High-Quality Metal
  • 1 Targeting Computer
  • 1 RF Broadcaster
  • 1 RF Receiver
  • To add a camera feed:
  • Sit at the Computer Station.
  • Enter the camera’s identifier in the bottom-left panel.
  • Select the ‘Add’ button.
  • Select it from the list to view the live feed.

Disabled Cameras

Cameras have 150 HP and can be shot out. When damaged, they display:

  • No Signal → destroyed or wrong code.
  • Weak Signal → temporarily disabled (about 5 minutes).

Even when disabled, cameras still transmit nearby player voices.
