How to Use NBTExplorer to Edit Minecraft World Data

1. Download the NBTExplorer Program

Then, follow the steps provided by the program for its installation.


2. Open NBTExplorer

When you open the program, all the Minecraft worlds you currently have created will automatically load.

2.1. Select the Minecraft World You Want To Modify

2.2. Open the ‘Data’ Folder

You can find the folder in /saves/level.dat/Data.

3. Modify Any World Properties You Want

Here, you can change the difficulty, game mode (creative, survival, adventure, or spectator), enable or disable hardcore mode, modify the weather, change the time of day, and many other world settings.

3.1. Change the World’s Game Mode

For example, to change the game mode, double-click on the ‘GameType’ option:

Then, enter one of these four numbers: 0 (survival), 1 (creative), 2 (adventure), or 3 (spectator):

3.2. Change the Game Difficulty

For example, to change the game difficulty, double-click on the ‘Difficulty’ option:

Then, enter one of these three numbers: 1 (easy), 2 (normal), or 3 (hard):

3.3. Enable or Disable Hardcore Mode in the World

For example, to enable or disable hardcore mode, double-click on the ‘hardcore’ option:

Then, enter one of these two numbers: 1 (enabled) or 0 (disabled):

4. Save the Changes Made
