How to Add Admins to Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

You must have SourceMod and MetaMod installed on your server before following this guide. If you do not have them yet, check out our Getting Started guides on installing them first.

1. Copy Your Steam ID

Note: We already have an article on how to find your steam ID

2. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

5. Select the ‘addons’ Folder

7. Select the ‘configs’ Folder

8. Select the ‘admins_simple.ini‘ File

9. Add Your Steam ID and Admin Permissions

Scroll to the very bottom of the file. You will see a lot of text explaining how admins work, but you can ignore it. Add a brand new line at the bottom, paste your Steam ID in quotation marks, and add "99:z" right next to it.

(Note: The “z” is the master root flag, giving you absolute control over every single command on the server!)

10. Save the Changes

11. Restart Your Server
