How To Adjust Pal Damage Resistance on Your Palworld Server

Note:

If your Pals are getting “one-shotted” by low-level enemies or if they feel like invincible tanks that never lose health, you need to adjust the PalDamageRateDefense setting. This variable acts as a global multiplier for how much damage your captured Pals take from all sources. Balancing this is crucial for maintaining the “challenge” of your Palworld server without making the game feel unfairly difficult.

1. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘PalWorldSettings.ini’ File

Navigate to:

Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

5. Locate the Variable

Tip: Use Ctrl + F to quickly find the required setting inside PalWorldSettings.ini

Search for PalDamageRateDefense=

Setting Value	Pal Toughness	Effect
0.5	Tank Mode	Pals take 50% less damage than normal.
1.0	Default	Standard balance.
2.0	Glass Cannon	Pals take double damage. Battles become very punishing.
