How to Adjust Zombie Mob Sizes on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Note:

When Left 4 Dead 2 originally launched, the engine limited the maximum number of standard zombies (Common Infected) on screen to 30 to prevent older computers from crashing. Today’s servers can handle way more! By tweaking a few simple commands directly in your server files, you can double or triple the horde sizes for a truly apocalyptic, World War Z-style experience

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

6. Add the Zombie Mob Commands

Scroll to the very bottom of the file and paste the following commands on new lines.

(Note: The default game restricts normal gameplay to 30 zombies at a time, and “Panic Event” hordes to 50. The numbers below will exactly double those limits! You can tweak these numbers even higher, but be careful not to crash your server)

z_common_limit 60
z_mega_mob_size 100
z_mob_spawn_min_size 20
z_mob_spawn_max_size 60

7. Save the Changes

8. Restart Your Server
