How To Change the Name of Your Satisfactory World

Important!

Before making any changes, ensure that the Satisfactory server is fully offline.
Editing or renaming save files while the server is running may cause data corruption or lost progress.

Additionally, please note that changes made through the server panel may take up to 1 hour to update, Allow sufficient time for the update to apply before restarting the server.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Locate the ‘SaveGames’ Folder in the Files Tab

You can find the SaveGames folder here :

/home/container/.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames

This is where all your world save files are stored. Make sure the server is completely offline before accessing or modifying any files in this folder to prevent data corruption or loss of progress.

4. Open Your ‘server’ Folder

In the server folder, you will find all your saved games for Satisfactory. This is where each world or session is stored, allowing you to manage, back up, or rename your saves.

Always ensure the server is offline before making any changes to prevent data corruption or loss of progress.

5. Locate Your Current Game File & Select Rename

To rename your game file, once you have located the save file, click the three dots menu (…) on its side and select Rename.

6. Rename Your Games File

When renaming your game file, you must keep the .sav extension at the end of the file name. Removing or changing this extension can cause the save file to become unreadable by the server or the game.

As you can see above, I have changed the name of my file but have not changed the .sav extension. Please also note that all spaces within a file name must be replaced with underscores _ to ensure the server reads the save correctly.
