How To Change the Starting Area on a Satisfactory Server

Important!

You cannot change the starting area on an existing save. To use a different starting biome, you must create a new game and select the desired starting area during setup. After making changes to your server configuration, it may take up to one hour for the server to fully sync and apply the update.

1. Launch Satisfactory

4. Select ‘Create Game’

5. Choose Your Desired Spawn Point

Spawn Location	Details
Grass Fields	A wide, open area with lots of basic resources and easy terrain. It’s the best starting zone for beginners because building is simple and safe.
Rocky Desert	A flat, open desert with plateaus and plenty of resources. Great for beginners who want lots of building space and good long-term expansion.
Nothern Forest	A dense, vertical forest packed with resources but tight to build in. Good for players who don’t mind clearing trees and dealing with uneven terrain.
Dune Desert	A huge desert with massive building space and decent resource spread. Perfect for large factories, though it feels empty and has limited vegetation.

6. Select ‘Start Game’

Once you start a new game with your chosen spawn location, you may be briefly disconnected from the server while it updates the save file. This is normal and will reconnect once the process is finished.
