How To Enable Permanent Death Toggles on Your Palworld Server

Note:

If you’re enabling Hardcore Mode on your Palworld server, there is a secondary “safety” setting that defines exactly what happens after a player dies. While standard Hardcore mode usually prevents you from respawning, the bCharacterRecreateInHardcore The setting determines whether that player’s journey is truly over or if they are allowed to start fresh with a new character in the same world.

1. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘PalWorldSettings.ini’ File

Navigate to:

Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

5. Inject the Parameters

Tip: Use Ctrl + F to quickly find the required setting inside PalWorldSettings.ini

Search for bCharacterRecreateInHardcore=

Setting Name	Recommended Value	Effect
bHardcore	True	Permadeath Enable. Players cannot respawn normally upon death.
bCharacterRecreateInHardcore	True	The Second Chance. Allows a player to create a new Level 1 character after their previous one dies.
bCharacterRecreateInHardcore	False	The True End. A dead player is permanently locked out of their character and cannot rejoin that world with a new one.
