How to Fix the ‘Timed Out’ Error on a Minecraft Server

In this article, we propose a series of steps to resolve the ‘Timed Out’ error that appears when attempting to join a Minecraft server.

This error occurs when the user attempts to connect to the server but does not receive a response after a certain period of time. This is due to the connection being too slow or the server being overloaded.

1. Open ‘CMD’ As Administrator

1.1. Enter the command netsh winsock reset

This command allow you to remove any custom or corrupt network program configurations, such as VPN or browsers to fix internet connectivity issues.

1.2. Enter the command ipconfig /flushdns

This command will allow you to clear your PC’s DNS resolver cache, which removes old or corrupt IP address and domain name information to force the system to fetch updated data.

2. Open Your PC Settings

2.2. Select ‘Advanced Network Settings’

2.3. Select ‘Network Reset’
