How to Install an AFK Manager on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

You must have SourceMod and MetaMod installed on your server before following this guide. If you do not have them yet, check out our Getting Started guides on installing them first.

1. Download the Simple AFK Manager Plugin

2. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

5. Select the ‘addons’ Folder

8. Upload the AFK Manager Plugin Into the ‘plugin’ Folder

9. Restart Your Server

10. Select the ‘cfg’ Folder Inside the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

11. Select the ‘sourcemod’ Folder

12. Inside ‘sourcemod’ Folder, Select the ‘SimpleAfkManager.cfg‘ File

13. Tweak Your AFK Timers

Inside this file, you will see:

sam_kick_time: This is the amount of time (in seconds) an idle player is allowed to sit in Spectator before the server kicks them. The default is 120 seconds (2 minutes). Change this to whatever you feel is fair

14. Save the Changes

15. Restart Your Server
