How to Install Mods on Your Euro Truck Simulator 2 Server

1. Enable Your Mods in the Mod Manager

  1. Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2.
  2. In the main menu, open Mod Manager.
  3. Activate the mods you want to use on your server.
  4. Confirm and return to the profile selection screen.

Ensuring the mods are active here is crucial — the server packages will only include the mods you enable.

2. Load Into the Game

  1. Select your profile.
  2. Select Drive to enter the game world.

You must be inside the map/driving mode for the export command to work properly.

3. Export the Server Packages

  1. Press ` or ~ to open the developer console.
  2. Type the following command:
export_server_packages
  1. Press Enter.

ETS2 will now generate two files:

  • server_packages.dat
  • server_packages.sii

These files contain your enabled mods and are required for your dedicated server.

4. Locate the Generated Files

After exporting, close the game.

You can find the exported server package files here:

Windows:

Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/

You should now see:

  • server_packages.dat
  • server_packages.sii

These are the files you must upload to your server.

5. Upload the Files to Your ETS2 Server

  1. Go to your hosting control panel.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Navigate to:
.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2
  1. Upload both files:
  • server_packages.dat
  • server_packages.sii
  1. Once the upload is complete, start your server again.

All Done!

Your ETS2 server will now load the mods you activated locally. If you add or remove mods in the future, simply repeat this process to generate new server package files.
