How to Install SourceMod on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

SourceMod cannot run on its own! You must install MetaMod:Source on your server before following this guide. If you haven’t done that yet, check out our guide on installing MetaMod first.

1. Download the SourceMod File

Note: Download the Linux Version

2. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

5. Upload the SourceMod.tar.gz File Into the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

6. Unarchive the Uploaded File

Click the three dots next to the file in your panel and select Unarchive. This will perfectly drop the SourceMod files right into your existing addons and cfg folders

7. Restart Your Server

8. Select the ‘console’ Tab

9. Verify the Installation in the Console

Click the Console tab, type sm version, and press enter. It should display the current version of SourceMod, confirming the installation was successful
