How to Set a Message of the Day (MOTD) on Your DayZ Server

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the serverDZ.cfg

You can find the serverDZ.cfg folder in the root directory.

5. Add or Edit the MOTD Settings

The MOTD is not included by default in serverDZ.cfg, so it must be added manually.

Open the serverDZ.cfg file and add the following lines anywhere in the file:

motd[] = {
"Welcome to our DayZ server!",
"No cheating or exploiting.",
"Join our Discord for news and updates."
};
motdInterval = 10;

What these options do:

• motd[]
Each line inside the brackets is shown as a separate message.

• motdInterval
  Controls how often the messages rotate (in seconds).

You can add as many lines as you want.

6. Save the File

Select the ‘Save Content’ button after making your changes.

7. Start Your Server

Start the server again to apply the new MOTD.

The message will now appear to players when they join.
