How to Change Rust Server World Size and Seed

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Startup’ Tab

3. Enter the ‘WORLD SIZE’

Enter the map size in the ‘WORLD SIZE’ field. The maximum supported value is 6,000.

The world size determines the overall size of your Rust map.
Values are measured in units of meters, and Rust supports maps between 1000 and 6000 (default is usually 4000).

  • Smaller maps: Less memory and CPU usage, faster load times, better for small groups. Fewer monuments and less terrain mean lower RAM usage.
    • Size: 3000–3500.
    • Recommended for: 1–50 players.
    • Example: A map size of 3000 is enough for a small group of friends or a private server.

  • Larger maps: More space for bases and resources, better for large communities, but higher memory and CPU requirements. More terrain and monuments increase memory usage, but provide ample space for exploration and building.
    • Size: 4000–6000.
    • Recommended for: 50–200+ players.
    • Example: A map size of 4500–5000 works well for medium to large communities.

4. Enter the ‘WORLD SEED’

Enter the map seed in the ‘WORLD SEED’ field.

The world seed is a number used to generate your map’s terrain and monument layout. Changing the seed will create a different map with the same size. Any number can be used; higher or lower values simply produce different map configurations.

Tip: Players can share seeds to create identical maps across servers.
