How To Find a Hytale Player’s Username

Note:

Since files are named by UUID rather than username, you may need to search through multiple files to identify which one belongs to a specific player. This can be done by opening the files and checking the internal name fields as shown above.

1. Log In to Your Panel

3. Locate Your ‘players’ Folder

You can find your players’ folder through this directory: home/container/universe/players

4. Select a File to Check

Whenever a player joins your server, a unique data file is automatically generated within this directory. These files are named using the player’s UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) to ensure there are no conflicts between accounts.

For instance, if a player named GoldLeaf334 joins, the server creates a file titled f03a2733-e57f-4c65-8464-5d3c1f13c802.json. These .json files serve as a database for individual player states, storing critical information such as spawn coordinates, current health, and gamemode settings.

Because UUIDs are not human-readable, identifying a specific player’s file often requires searching through the directory to find the username associated with a particular ID.
