How to Set Up Automatic Backups on Your Project Zomboid Server

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Select the ‘Schedules’ Tab

3. Create a Schedule

If you don’t know how to create schedules, you can view our How to Configure Schedules in Pterodactyl article.


4. Edit the Schedule

4.1. Enter the Schedule Name

Since we want to configure automatic backups, you can enter the name ‘Automatic Backups’.


4.2. Select the ‘Easy-Mode’ Button

This option will allow you to configure time intervals more easily.


4.3. Enter the Time Interval at Which the Backups Will Occur

It is recommended for an average Project Zomboid server to have backups every 6 hours. You can set this interval in the ‘Interval (every)’ section.


4.4. Make Sure the ‘Schedule Enabled’ Option Is Checked

Then, save changes.


5. Select the ‘New Task’ Button

5.1. Select the ‘Create Backup’ Option in the ‘Action’ Dropdown Menu

Make sure to leave the ‘Time offset’ option set to 0.

5.2. Enable the ‘Continue on Failure’ Option

Then, select the ‘Create Task’ button.


6. Restart Your Server
