How To Fix the ‘Chat Disabled Due to Missing Profile Public Key’ Error on Your Minecraft Server

Note:

Fixing this error requires disabling Minecraft’s “Secure Profile” feature. Before doing this, you should know the repercussions:

The Benefit: Disabling this allows players using third-party launchers, privacy mods (like No Chat Reports), or offline networks to join and chat without being constantly kicked.

No Mojang Chat Reporting: Players will no longer be able to use the vanilla in-game reporting tool to report chat messages to Mojang.

Self-Moderation Required: Because Mojang’s moderation is bypassed, you and your server staff will be 100% responsible for moderating toxic chat.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘server.properties‘ File

4. Find the Secure Profile Setting

Look through the file for the line that says enforce-secure-profile=true. You can also use the search bar (Ctrl + F) to find it quickly.

5. Change the Value to False

Delete the word true and replace it with false So the line now reads exactly like this: enforce-secure-profile=False

6. Select the ‘Save Content’ Button

7. Restart Your Server
