How to Remove the Ghost Spawn Delay in Versus on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

You must have SourceMod and MetaMod installed on your server before following this guide. If you do not have them yet, check out our Getting Started guides on installing them first.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Select the ‘cfg’ Folder

6. Add the Ghost Delay Commands

Scroll to the very bottom of the file and paste the following commands on new lines.

sm_cvar z_ghost_delay_min 1
sm_cvar z_ghost_delay_max 1

(Note: Because the ghost delay is technically locked by the game engine, we have to type sm_cvar in front of the command so SourceMod can force it to change! The numbers below represent the minimum and maximum seconds a player has to wait. We are setting both to 1 second for near-instant respawns!)

7. Save the Changes
