How To Change Block Limits To Be per Faction or per Player on Your Space Engineers Server

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘config’ Folder

4. Select the ‘Saves’ Folder

5. Select the ‘World’ Folder

6. Inside the ‘World’ Folder, Select the ‘Sandbox_config.sbc‘ File

The Sandbox_config.sbc file highlighted in the world folder.

7. Configure the Block Limits Setting

Scroll through the file or use Ctrl + F to find the <BlockLimitsEnabled> tag.

You can change the text inside this tag to perfectly match your server’s playstyle. Note that you must use all capital letters for these specific settings:

To Disable Limits: Change the value to read <BlockLimitsEnabled>NONE</BlockLimitsEnabled>. (Warning: This is incredibly risky and can quickly lead to severe server lag).

To Limit By Player: Change the value to read <BlockLimitsEnabled>PER_PLAYER</BlockLimitsEnabled>. Every individual player will have their own strict limit, regardless of who they team up with.

To Limit By Faction: Change the value to read
<BlockLimitsEnabled>PER_FACTION</BlockLimitsEnabled>. Players in the same faction share a combined pool, allowing for much larger collaborative builds.

To Limit Globally: Change the value to read <BlockLimitsEnabled>GLOBALLY</BlockLimitsEnabled>. There is one massive pool for the entire server, and once it runs out, no one can build anymore.
