How To Reduce Lag on Your Don’t Starve Together Server

Note:

Long-running Don’t Starve Together servers often experience lag (rubberbanding or delayed interactions) when thousands of dropped items accumulate over time. Using console commands to clear this “entity bloat” and restarting the server will significantly improve performance.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Navigate to the Console Tab

3. Check for Entity Bloat

Enter c_countprefabs("rot") and press Enter to identify how many decaying items are active on the server.

4. Delete Leftover Entities

Enter c_removeall("rot") into the command field and press Enter to permanently delete all dropped rot from the map.

5. Clear Additional Debris

Enter c_removeall("ash") and press Enter to remove other common lag-causing items. You can repeat this step using "houndstooth" or "spidergland" if necessary.
