How To Fix the “Steam Validation Rejected” Error on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

L4D2 Server Dashboard, Files Tab Highlighted

4. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

7. Disabling the LAN Mode

Scroll to the bottom of the file and look for a line that says sv_lan 1. Change the 1 to a 0 so it reads exactly as sv_lan 0. If this line does not exist, simply type it at the bottom of the file. This tells the server to accept public connections.

8. Force Region/Heartbeat (Optional but Recommended)

Below sv_lan 0, press Enter and add a new line that says sv_region 255 (which sets the server to a global region) and another line that says heartbeat (which forces the server to ping Steam’s master servers immediately).

9. Select ‘Save Contents’ Button
