How To Enable or Disable Third-Person View on Your Space Engineers Server

Note:

Players in Space Engineers can easily switch between first and third person view (usually by hitting the ‘V’ key) to view their character or get a better look at the outside of the ship they are controlling. Turning off third-person view puts everyone in first-person mode, creating an extremely immersive, simulator-like experience that makes spatial awareness much more difficult.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘config’ Folder

4. Select the ‘Saves’ Folder

5. Select the ‘World’ Folder

6. Inside the ‘World’ Folder, Select the ‘Sandbox_config.sbc‘ File

7. Toggle the Third-Person Setting

Scroll through the file or use Ctrl + F to find the <Enable3rdPersonView> tag.

To lock all players into first-person mode, carefully delete the word true and replace it with false so the line looks exactly like this:

<Enable3rdPersonView>false</Enable3rdPersonView>

If you want to allow players to use the exterior camera again, simply change the value back to true. Ensure all letters are lowercase and there are no extra spaces.
