How To Fix Cave Connection Errors on Your Don’t Starve Together Server

Note:

Cave connection errors (often displaying as shard desyncs or authentication failures) are typically caused by an invalid, expired, or mismatched Cluster Token preventing the surface and cave servers from linking securely.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Navigate to the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Locate the Server Configuration Directory

Path: Home > Container > DoNotStarveTogether > Config > Server

The cluster token text file located inside the server configuration folder.

5. Generate a New Cluster Token from Keli’s Website

6. Update the Cluster Token

Select the 'cluster_token.txt' file to open it in the editor. Replace the existing text with your new Klei Server Token and select 'Save Content'

7. Navigate to the ‘Startup’ Tab

8. Update the Cluster Token

Locate the 'Cluster Token' field. Delete the existing text and paste your new server token into the text box.

9. Restart Your Server
