How to Set a Custom World Seed on Your Terraria Server

Note:

World seeds only take effect when a brand new world is generated. Changing or adding a seed will not alter existing worlds or save files on your server.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Console’ Tab

From the left navigation menu, select the ‘Console’ tab to open your server dashboard.

3. Stop Your Server

Click the red ‘Stop’ button on the console dashboard and wait until your server status displays ‘Offline’.

4. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

From the left navigation menu, select the ‘Files’ tab to access your server’s root directory.

5. Open the serverconfig.txt File

Locate the serverconfig.txt file in your file directory and click on it to open the file in the built-in editor.

6. Set a New World Name

Inside the file editor, locate the worldname parameter and enter a new world name so your server creates a fresh world.

7. Enter Your Custom World Seed

Locate the seed parameter, remove the # symbol if present, and enter your desired custom seed value directly after the equal sign.

8. Save Your Changes

Click the purple ‘Save Content’ button in the top right of the file editor to save your world configuration settings.

9. Return to the ‘Console’ Tab

From the left navigation menu, select the ‘Console’ tab to return to the server dashboard.

10. Start Your Server

Click the green ‘Start’ button to initialize your server and generate the new world with your custom seed.
