How To Install and Configure Better Employees on Your Schedule 1 Server

The Better Employees mod gives server owners complete, granular control over NPC worker mechanics—allowing you to configure daily wages, movement speeds, work capacities, and task timers for individual roles (chemist, packager, botanist, cleaner). Fine-tuning these parameters inside the mod’s JSON configuration file helps balance your server’s shared economy and prevents productivity bottlenecks during high-player operations.

1. Download the Better Employees Mod Archive

2. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘File’ Tab

4. Upload the ‘BetterEmployees’ Mod Into the Main Directory

5. Unarchive the Mod Package

Locate the uploaded .zip file in your File Manager directory, select the options menu (...) on the far right of the file row, and select Unarchive. The panel will extract the files automatically, placing BetterEmployees.dll into your server’s Mods folder.

Configurable Parameters Breakdown

DailyWage: The daily operational cost deducted per active employee in that role.

WalkSpeed: Movement speed multiplier (e.g., 1.2 provides a 20% movement speed increase).

MaxStations / MaxBins / MaxRoutes: The maximum assigned workstations, trash bins, or delivery routes per individual worker.

Action Timers (SoilPourTime, HarvestTime, etc.): Lowering these values (in seconds) speeds up the botanist’s routine task execution times.
