How to Change the Building Cost Modifier on Your V Rising Server

Note:

The Building Cost Modifier controls how much resources players need to build structures. Lower values reduce building costs, while higher values increase them.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

Scroll down the Sidebar until you find the Files Tab.

4. Locate the ‘ServerGameSettings.json’ File

Navigate to: VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json

It should look like this:

5. Locate the Phrase Highlighted Below in the ‘ServerGameSettings.json’ File

Locate the "BuildCostModifier ” within the file.

6. Replace the Values of the Highlighted Phrase Below Accordingly

“0.25“: Reduces building costs to 25% of their default value, significantly lowering the amount of materials required.

OR

“0.5“: Reduces building costs by 50%, requiring half the normal amount of materials.

OR

“0.75“: Reduces building costs by 25%, so players need fewer materials when building structures.

“1.0“: Default building costs used in standard V Rising servers.

7. Check the JSON Formatting

Make sure the values are entered correctly and that the JSON formatting remains unchanged. Do not remove quotation marks, commas, or curly brackets when editing the setting.

8. Save the Newly Made Changes

Use the highlighted button to do so.

9. Restart Your Server and Game

10. Verify the Changes In-Game

Join your server and open the Build Menu to confirm that the building costs have changed.

For example:

0.25: Building costs are reduced by 75%, so structures require only 25% of their default resource cost.

0.5: Building costs are reduced by 50%, so structures require half of their default resource cost.

0.75: Building costs are reduced by 25%, requiring 25% fewer resources than normal.

1.0: Building costs remain at the default 100% resource cost.
