How To Customise Bot Movement and AI Behaviour on Your Insurgency Sandstorm Server

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Stop Your Server


3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘Game.ini’ file

Navigate to:

Insurgency/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/

5. Edit the ‘Game.ini’ File

Configuration LineWhat It Does
[/Script/AIModule.AISystem]The Header: Instructs the server that the following variables are for the core Unreal Engine AI and pathfinding system.
bAllowStrafingBot Aggression: When set to True, bots will shoot instantly while walking or running. They will spray and suppress players on the move instead of stopping to aim.
bAcceptPartialPathsPathfinding: When True, bots will still attempt to reach a player even if the final few steps of the path are blocked, rather than just standing still confused.
bEnableBTAITasksBehaviour Trees: Controls advanced AI background tasks. It is generally best left as False for Sandstorm to prevent bot logic loops.
bFinishMoveOnGoalOverlapMovement Logic: When False, bots must reach their exact destination coordinate before their movement task is considered “finished”, preventing them from cutting corners too early.
