How To Change Drop on Death Settings on Your 7 Days To Die Server

Note:

If you want to create a more forgiving cooperative environment or a hardcore survival challenge where items are permanently deleted, you can easily modify the drop settings on your server with the help of this guide.

1. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Locate the ‘serverconfig.xml’ File

You can find the file in home/container/serverconfig.xml.

5. Find and Replace the Value of “DropOnDeath” to the Desired Value

The values range from 0 to 4.

Value	Description
0	Players keep all items in their inventory upon death
1	The entire inventory, toolbelt, and equipped gear drop into a backpack
2	Only items placed on the active hotbar drop onto the ground
3	Only the items stored inside the main inventory slots drop
4	All carried items are permanently erased from the world upon death
