How To Enable or Restrict Spectator Mode for Players in Space Engineers

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘config’ Folder

5. Select the ‘World’ Folder

6. Inside the ‘World’ Folder, Select the ‘Sandbox_config.sbc‘ File

7. Configure the Spectator Setting

Scroll through the file or use Ctrl + F to find the <EnableSpectator> tag.

To Enable Spectator (For Sandbox/Creative servers): Change the value to true so the line reads <EnableSpectator>true</EnableSpectator>. Everyone on the server will be able to detach their camera freely.

To Restrict Spectator (Recommended for PvP/Survival): Ensure the line reads exactly <EnableSpectator>false</EnableSpectator>. Regular players will be locked to their engineer’s perspective, but admins can still use it via the Space Master menu.

8. Save the Changes
