How To Customise Advanced AI Perception and Detection Ranges on Your Insurgency Server

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Stop Your Server


3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘Game.ini’ file

Navigate to:

Insurgency/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/

5. Edit the ‘Game.ini’ File

VariableTechnical Function
HearingRangeAcoustic Detection: Defines the radius (in Unreal Units) within which a bot can detect player-generated noise, such as sprinting or reloading, through walls or obstacles.
SightRadiusVisual Acquisition: The maximum distance at which a bot can initiate a visual lock on a player. A value of 3000 provides a realistic, long-range engagement distance.
LoseSightRadiusTracking Persistence: This sets the distance required to break the AI’s visual tracking. Setting this higher than the SightRadius ensures bots remain “locked on” even if a player moves slightly out of the initial detection range.
LoSHearingRangeDirect Acoustic Awareness: Extends the bot’s hearing capabilities when a clear Line of Sight exists, allowing them to react instantly to long-range weapon fire or movement.
