How to Find a User’s SteamID

1. Enter Your Steam Username Below

Enter your Steam username below and select Find ID. This will locate your SteamID64 in the database, which you can then copy and use for your server.

Steam ID Lookup

Enter a Steam username, profile URL, or any Steam ID format.

Your SteamID is completely unique to your account and will never change. Once you have it, you can copy and paste it wherever it is required, from in-game settings to server administrator configurations.

2. Types of User Steam ID’s

1. SteamID (SteamID32 or STEAM_0)

This is the original format used since the early days of Steam. It is most commonly used for setting up admin permissions in multiplayer source games (like Counter-Strike or Garry’s Mod).

  • Format Example: STEAM_0:0:1234567

2. SteamID64 (Community ID)

This is a unique 17-digit number assigned to every Steam account. It is the most universally used ID today, especially for third-party tracking sites, linking accounts (like Discord or Epic Games), and server administration.

  • Format Example: 76561198000000000
  • Tip: This number is also what appears at the end of your default Steam profile URL.

3. SteamID3 (U:1)

A newer, shorter format introduced by Valve. It is primarily used internally by Steam and in games like Dota 2 or Team Fortress 2 for trade offers and backend tracking.

  • Format Example: [U:1:1234567]

4. Custom URL (Vanity URL)

This isn’t a permanent ID, but rather a personalised username chosen by the player to replace the long SteamID64 in their profile link. It can be changed by the user at any time.

  • Format Example: https://steamcommunity.com/id/YourCustomName
