How To Enable or Disable Caves on Your Don’t Starve Together Server

Note:

Disabling caves will permanently block all surface sinkholes, preventing players from traveling underground.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Navigate to the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Locate the Server Cluster Directory

Path: Home > Container > DoNotStarveTogether > Config > Server

4. Select the ‘cluster.ini‘ File

5. Disable Server Sharding

Scroll through the configuration file until you locate the [SHARD] section. Find the shard_enabled setting and change its value to false.

[SHARD]
shard_enabled = false

By setting this to false, you are telling the surface world to operate entirely on its own. It will refuse to link to any underground maps, effectively closing off the caves.
