How To Set Up Practice Mode on Your CS2 Server

Why you might NOT want them in server.cfg

The server.cfg file runs every time the server starts or a map changes. If you put these settings in there:

Cheats will be enabled globally by default, which might interfere if you ever want to use the server for a serious 5v5 or a competitive warm-up.
You’ll have to manually turn them off every time you want a normal game.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Create a ‘practice.cfg‘ File

Navigate to:

game/csgo/cfg/

5. Open ‘practice.cfg’ file

Paste the following commands:

Category	Command	Description
Foundation	sv_cheats 1	Required. Enables the use of all other practice commands.
Economy	mp_maxmoney 65535	Increases the maximum money limit to the highest possible value.
	mp_startmoney 65535	Sets starting cash so you can buy any weapon immediately.
	mp_buy_anywhere 1	Allows you to open the buy menu anywhere on the map.
	mp_buytime 60000	Extends the buy period to last the entire hour.
Ammo & Utility	sv_infinite_ammo 1	Gives infinite ammo and grenades (no reloading needed).
	ammo_grenade_limit_total 5	Allows you to carry all grenade types at once.
	sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1	CS2 Only: Shows a small window of where the smoke will land.
	sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_trailtime 15	Shows the path of the grenade for 15 seconds.
Match Rules	mp_roundtime_defuse 60	Sets the round length to 60 minutes.
	mp_freezetime 0	Removes the countdown at the start of rounds.
	mp_limitteams 0	Allows any number of players/bots on one team.
	mp_autoteambalance 0	Disables automatic team switching.
Visuals & Bots	sv_showimpacts 1	Highlights where bullets hit (useful for spray control).
	bot_kick	Removes all bots from the server for a clean map.
	bot_add	Adds a bot (useful for testing wallbangs).
	bot_stop 1	Freezes all bots in their current position.
Execution	mp_restartgame 1	Restarts the match to apply all the settings above.
