How To Adjust the Death Respawn Timer on Your Palworld Server

Note:

If your players are tired of staring at a black screen after a tough boss fight, or if you want to make death feel more consequential, you need to adjust BlockRespawnTime. This setting controls the “cooldown” or lockout period (in seconds) that a player must wait before they are allowed to click the respawn button and rejoin the action.

1. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘PalWorldSettings.ini’ File

Navigate to:

Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

5. Find the Variable

Tip: Use Ctrl + F to quickly find the required setting inside PalWorldSettings.ini

Search for BlockRespawnTime

Setting Value	Respawn Speed	Effect
1.0	Instant	Almost no delay. Best for fast-paced PvP or casual testing.
5.0	Default	The standard vanilla experience. A 5-second breather.
30.0	Strategic	A 30-second wait. Forces players to be more careful in raids.
300.0	Hardcore	A 5-minute lockout. Death becomes a major setback.
