How To Disable Meteor Showers on Your Space Engineers Server

Note:

Meteor showers are environmental hazards that occasionally rain down on planets and asteroids, leaving craters and damaging any player grids caught in the blast. While they can provide a source of rare ores, many server owners choose to disable them to focus on building without the constant threat of orbital bombardment.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Selecr the ‘config’ Folder

4. Select the ‘Saves’ Folder

5. Select the ‘World’ Folder

6. Inside the ‘World’ Folder, Select the ‘Sandbox_config.sbc‘ File

7. Change the Environment’s Hostility

Scroll through the file or use Ctrl + F to find the <EnvironmentHostility> tag. This setting determines the frequency and danger of meteor showers.

To completely disable meteor showers, delete the current value (usually NORMAL) and replace it with SAFE. The final line should look exactly like this:

<EnvironmentHostility>SAFE</EnvironmentHostility>

Note: If you want to make the game harder later, you can change this setting to CATACLYSM or ARMAGEDDON for much more frequent strikes.
