How To Change Welding and Grinding Multipliers on Your Space Engineers Server

Note:

Building massive capital ships block by block can be really satisfying, and really time-consuming. You can easily increase the welding and grinding speed multipliers on your server if you want to speed up the construction (and deconstruction) process for your players.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘config’ Folder

4. Select the ‘Saves’ Folder

5. Select the ‘World’ Folder

6. Inside the ‘World’ Folder, Select the ‘Sandbox_config.sbc‘ File

7. Adjust the Welding and Grinding Multipliers

Scroll through the file or use Ctrl + F to locate the specific tags for these tools. The number between the tags acts as a multiplier (where 1 is the default speed).

To change how fast blocks are built: Find the <WelderSpeedMultiplier> tag. Change the value to a higher number to make welding faster. For example:

<WelderSpeedMultiplier>2</WelderSpeedMultiplier>

This will make welding twice as fast.

To change how fast blocks are dismantled: Find the <GrinderSpeedMultiplier> tag. Increase this number to speed up how fast players and ship grinders can tear down blocks.

Note: Setting these to 2 or 5 gives a great boost to quality of life without completely breaking the survival aspect of the game.
