How To Enable Subgrid Damage on Your Space Engineers Server

Note:

If you are building complex mechs, custom turret gimbals, or retractable landing gear, keeping Subgrid Damage disabled (the default setting) is highly recommended. Enabling it requires incredible precision to prevent self-destruction!

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘config’ Folder

4. Select the ‘Saves’ Folder

5. Select the ‘World’ Folder

6. Inside the ‘World’ Folder, Select the ‘Sandbox_config.sbc‘ File

7. Configure the Subgrid Damage Setting

Scroll through the file or use Ctrl + F to find the <EnableSubgridDamage> tag.

To Disable Self-Damage (Safe Engineering): Change the value to false so the line reads <EnableSubgridDamage>false</EnableSubgridDamage>.

To Enable Self-Damage (Hardcore Physics): Change the value to true. The line should look exactly like this: <EnableSubgridDamage>true</EnableSubgridDamage>.

8. Save the Changes

9. Restart Your Server
