How To Increase the Maximum Number of “Downs” Before Death on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

Because Valve strictly protects core survival stats, you must have SourceMod installed on your server to force this configuration change to work. Additionally, healing with a First Aid Kit resets a player’s “down count” back to zero, regardless of what maximum limit you set here!

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

4. Select the ‘cfg’ Folder

5. Select the ‘server.cfg‘ File

6. Add the SourceMod Revive Speed Command

Scroll to the bottom of the document on a new, empty line, and type the following command (we are using 2 seconds as an example):

sm_cvar survivor_max_incapacitated_count 3

You can change the number 3 to whatever maximum limit you want.

5 gives everyone a massive buffer before they actually die.

2 is the vanilla default setting.

0 creates an ultra-hardcore, instant-death server.
