How To Allow Survivors To Drop From Ledges (Ledge Release) on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

You must have SourceMod and MetaMod installed on your server before following this guide. If you do not have them yet, check out our guides on installing them first.

1. Download the Ledge Release Plugin

2. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

4. Select the ‘addons’ Folder

6. Upload the Ledge_Release_v3 to ‘sourcemod’ Folder

7. Unarchive the Ledge_Release_v3.zip

8. Restart Your Server

9 How the Ledge Release Works

When a player slips and enters the “hanging” animation on a ledge, a prompt will appear on their screen. If they decide they do not want to wait for a rescue, they simply press their Crouch key (usually Ctrl). Their character will immediately let go of the ledge and drop to the ground below! Keep in mind, they will still take standard fall damage based on how high the drop was.
