How To Adjust the Revive Speed for Incapacitated Teammates on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

This configuration only affects the speed of picking up a teammate who is currently incapacitated. It does not speed up the animation of using a Defibrillator on a completely dead teammate. Additionally, because Valve protects this core gameplay stat, you must have SourceMod installed on your server to force this command to work.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

4. Select the ‘cfg’ Folder

5. Select the ‘server.cfg‘ File

6. Add the SourceMod Revive Speed Command

Scroll to the bottom of the document on a new, empty line, and type the following command, exactly as shown in the screenshot:

sm_cvar survivor_revive_duration 2

You can change the number 2 to your preferred amount of seconds.

5 is the vanilla default setting.

1 or 2 allows for lightning-fast rescues mid-combat.

8 or 10 makes rescuing a downed teammate a massive risk that requires cover fire from the rest of the team.
