How To Fix World File Outdated and World File Miss-match Errors On Your Rust Server

Fix From Server Side


1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Locate the Map Files Folder

You can find the folder in  /home/container/server/rust.

4. Delete the .sav Files

Select the ‘Delete’ button (trash can icon).

6. Restart Your Server

Fix From Client Side

Note:

This fixes the error if the issue was caused by a mismatch between the server and local files.

Make sure to back up any important local data before deleting files.

1. Close Rust and Steam


2. Navigate to Your Local Rust Files

Go to your Rust installation folder. For Steam, this is usually:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\


3. Delete the Local World File

Locate the .sav files in the server folder. Delete the outdated or corrupted world files.


4. Restart Rust

Launch Rust again and connect to your server. Steam will download the correct world file from the server automatically.
