How to Enable Proximity Voice Chat on your Project Zomboid Server (B41/B42)

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Select the ‘Files’ tab

3. Locate the ‘Server’ Folder

You can find the folder in /home/container/.cache/Server.

4. Select the ‘Server.ini’ File

5. Locate the ‘Voice’ Section

You can find the Voice section starting from line 222 within the file.

(1) Set the ‘VoiceEnable’ Option to ‘true’.

(1) Enter the Minimum Voice Range Value in the ‘VoiceMinDistance’ Option: The lower the value, the closer you will need to be to the player who is speaking in order to hear them. Each unit equals one cell.

(1) Enter the Maximum Voice Range Value in the VoiceMaxDistance Option : The higher the value, the farther away you will be able to hear the player who is speaking. Each unit equals one cell.

(4. OPTIONAL) Set the ‘Voice3D’ Option to ‘true’: This option will allow you to hear the player who is speaking based on the direction they are facing relative to others.

Then, save the changes:
