How To Fix Your Hytale Server Not Starting

Why Reinstalling the Server Fixes Issues With Not Starting?

If your server fails to start, it is often because of missing or corrupted dependency files. Performing a Server Reinstall will stop the instance and re-run the original setup script. This refreshes all necessary packages to ensure the environment is configured correctly.

What Else Might Be Causing Issues?

Another couple of reasons your server is running into issues with starting could be due to the following reasons:

  1. The server is in an error state or is logging an error within the console. This typically happens after joining the server or recently editing the server files incorrectly. To check if you are running into any error logs, we highly recommend that you check your logs.

  2. Mod Compatibility: Conflicts often occur when multiple mod packs or dependencies overlap. To ensure stability, we recommend checking the documentation for each mod to confirm its specific requirements and compatibility with other installed content. Learn more about Hytale modding here
  3. Token Errors: If you see ‘New Tokens Needed,’ it simply means your login session has expired or timed out for security. To fix this, please restart your Hytale client to generate a new session key. If you still can’t connect, wait about 60 seconds before trying again to let the server clear your old session.
