How to Create a Custom MOTD (Message of the Day) in Left 4 Dead 2

Note:

The MOTD (Message of the Day) is the very first pop-up screen players see when they join your Left 4 Dead 2 server, right before they pick their character. Server owners use this screen to welcome players, list the server rules, or provide a link to their community Discord.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

4. Select the ‘modt.txt‘ File

(Note: If the modt.txt file doesn’t exist, create a new file with excatly same name in the left4dead2 folder)

5. Type Your Message in the ‘modt.txt‘ File

Type out the message you want your players to see. Left 4 Dead 2 supports standard text, so you can write out your welcome message and rules line by line.

6. Save the File

7. Restart Your Server
